In My Mailbox (89)

I was in Kentucky for eleven days.  The most I've been there since I moved away when I was six.  A constant, but pleasant onslaught of family, shopping, eating, and of course, gossiping.  Almost too much for this book mouse to handle, especially when I was straining under the fact I didn't have my own space to retreat to.  But when I got back to Charlotte, I found several packages on my desk.  This, above all else, made my day.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
I have yet to finish anything of Jane Austen's!  I have seen -- multiple times -- Pride & Prejudice (the version with Kiera Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen) but still have not read the book.  Then I saw Sense & Sensibility (the version with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet) and I knew I wanted to read the book.  If only I could finally get around to it, and when I do have the time, to actually be able to push out my attention span enough to finish it!

Alpha by Rachel Vincent
Shifters #6
I'm still working on rereading the first book, but I can't wait to delve into this series.  I think I might like it a bit more now that I'm older (and don't blush quite so much at some of the more... risqué scenes).  Stay tuned for reviews of this series. :)

Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton
Goblin Wars #1
I remember when this first came out, I was so excited to get my hands on a copy, but unfortunately, it fell into the category of books I wanted, but not enough to go out and spend money on it.  I got this copy of Tyger Tyger for trading my copy of The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong.  She also sent me some cool swag!

Fountain Bookstore
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (SIGNED)
Raven Cycle #1
Oh my gosh, y'all.  I totally squealed when I saw that I'd gotten this.  Since I ordered it from Maggie Stiefvater's local bookstore, I got it signed and doodled in.  Totally worth the 23 bucks I dropped for it. :) I can't wait to get started on this book!

Joseph Beth Booksellers
The Diviners by Libba Bray (SIGNED)
Diviners #1
Wow.  The event I attended Sept. 18th was so much fun.  I wish I lived near a city where book events happened all the time (don't we all, I'm sure) but it was just out of pure luck that I got to attend this event, since I happened to be in Lexington at the time.  Libba Bray is hilarious!  Not what I was expecting at all.  I filmed practically her entire presentation, so keep a look out for my recap! :)

That's it for me!  I hope y'all had an awesome week in books. :)
