Can you believe that I actually had to race my cat to my desk chair?  Un-be-flipping-lievable.  I gave her her own bookshelf to lay her fat self all over and she wants to fight me—literally fight me—for control of my desk chair.

This Dark Endeavor | Kenneth Oppel  I tried reading Kenneth Oppel's book Airborn but couldn't get into it due to the overwhelming amount of detail included.  But I found this book in Books A Million a couple of months ago and flipped out when I found out we had it at my school library.  I'm over a hundred pages in—super good so far.

No Plot?  No Problem | Chris Baty  A must-have for the NaNoWriMo season.  I am going to win this year.  I know it.  I'm not exactly starting from scratch.  I'm tacking on another 50k onto a pre existing story—my current WIP.  Don't worry, though.  I've got plenty of savory distractions for when the guilt-monkeys come after me.

The Healing Wars trilogy | Janice Hardy  I was SO excited to get this last week.  OH.  MY.  GOSH.  I read The Shifter and immediately fell in love with it.  Janice Hardy is a very talented author.  I can't wait to get into the rest of the series.  EEK! ^_^  (She also has many awesome posts about NaNoWriMo, so go check it out.)

The Scorpio Races | Maggie Stiefvater  Oh my gosh.  I can't believe she came out with a new book.  I am absolutely in love with her Wolves of Mercy Falls series so I've been psyched about this book since I found out she'd written it.  (Check out her blog, it's awesome—THE SCORPIO RACES HAS BEEN OPTIONED BY WARNER BROS.  Just so you know.)

Kindle | The Demon Trapper's Daughter | Jana Oliver  I received this from the absolutely wonderful Shanella from I Review Books by complete surprise for October's R.A.K. (hosted by Book Soulmates).  I canNOT wait to get into this one. :)  Big thanks, Shanella, darlin'!  You're awesome!

This little guy had my cat spazzing out this morning.  Very entertaining to watch  my cat's tail twitching furiously and her attempts to paw this guy through glass.  Ah, sweet retribution.  :)

If you're doing NaNoWriMo this year, feel free to add me as a friend. :)  (screen name: authoressamelia)
